Pals May Blog Hop - Retirement Party!

Thank you for joining us for the May Pals Blog Hop and our annual retirement party! It's time to say goodbye to stamps and accessories that will not be available in the new  2013-14 Stampin' Up!catalog. Although it's always sad to see wonderful products retire, it is exciting to think about all of the new products that will soon be available. So enjoy the farewell tour for our favorite retiring products - and remember you have until June 3rd to order from the retiring product lists.
You should have just left stop number 2 on the Pals Hop - Kerry Willard Bray at Stampgoodness.  If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

Today I am saying "Farewell" to French Foliage (tear).  I love the leaf imprint stamps in this set, as well as the water spot stamp, and will be sad to see this set go.  But I won't be sad for long, since the super cute sets from the new catalog will be available to order in a few short weeks!

I wanted to use the leaf stamps in a few different ways, so I created a background paper on Crumb Cake and then snipped out individual leaves stamped on Whisper White.  I layered my stamped background sheet on top of the woodgrain sheet from Natural Composition Specialty DSP.

The greeting is from another retiring set, Best Dad Ever.  This set has some great masculine-fonts and I will be sad to see it go also.  The greeting was stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White cardstock.  I'm so happy that the Linen Thread is not retiring... I love that stuff!

I wanted to veins of the leaves to stand out, so I used the fine tip of my Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker to highlight some veins.  The three leaves are arranged on a strip of Early Espresso cardstock that has been embossed with the Woodgrain TIEF.

I sponged the edges of my background sheet with Early Espresso to make it pop against the Natural Composition Specialty DSP layer.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  French Foliage, Best Dad Ever
Ink:  Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Natural Composition Specialty DSP, Whisper White, Old Olive
Embellishments:  Linen Thread, Old Olive 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon
Tools:  Big Shot, Woodgrain TIEF
