Pals August Blog Hop!

Thank you for joining us for the August Pals Blog Hop. Even though it's only August we want to provide some inspiration for your upcoming holiday projects. This month's blog hop will showcase new products from the 2013 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. We hope you enjoy seeing how we use the new stamps, new punches and other accessories!
You should have just left stop number 11 on the Pals Hop - Penny Nichols at Sierra Stampin!. If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

"Remembering Christmas" was the first stamp set in the Holiday Catalog to make it to my wish list.  It's another one of those sets that I felt an obligation to own... since my hubby is a hunter and we live in Wyoming surrounded by deer, antelope, elk, etc.

Another plus about this set... it's versatility!  I will be using this deer image for masculine thank you and birthday cards for years to come.  Since the image isn't traditionally Christmas-y (like a Santa Claus or Snowman) you can get miles of stamping out of this one!

Anyway, enough of my love of this set, here's my card:

I embossed the deer in Cherry Cobbler embossing powder onto a sheet of Etcetera DSP.  The Cherry Cobbler DSP is from a retired Christmas stack.

To dress up my deer a bit for the winter weather, I added a Pool Party ribbon "scarf".  A pretty Linen Thread bow and Vintage Trinkets safety pin hold my sentiment.

Want to make this deer even more Christmas-ready?  Just add a Basic Pearl colored with a red Sharpie to his nose... Rudolph!  The hubby gave me that idea!

Hope you enjoyed my card!  And thanks for hopping with us!

Stamping Supplies:
Stamps:  Remembering Christmas
Ink:  Versamark, Crumb Cake

  6. I just love the ribbon. On the side, as you have it, it's a scarf. Would it look like a tie if you hung it in the middle? (I'm thinking Father's Day for a Hunting Dad!) Great card!
