Hi all! I am so excited to be sharing my first card with you! Did you notice the title of this post? "Cattle"og Case! Get it - Catalog. Excuse my cowgirl humor!
Here is my first CASE (Copy and Share Everything) from the Annual Catalog using the Papaya Collage stamp set. I bought this set for the sole purpose of recreating the beautiful card on page 74. I love the shabby chic/vintage feel of the card. I changed the colors and placement around a bit, but I adore the finished product. What do you think? Pretty good for my first card -- if I do say so myself. I love that Stampin' Up! makes it so easy to create such beautiful pieces (even for a newbie!).
The base of the card is stamped in Crumb Cake with the swirly stamp from Everything Eleanor to create a pretty background. The Primrose Petals Co'ordinations layer was embossed with the Lacy Brocade TIEF, sanded, then torn around the edges. I created the frame by stamping off Early Espresso onto Very Vanilla cardstock (stamp once on scratch paper then again on your project to get a lighter color).
I used my sponge daubers to sponge ink directly onto the bird stamp, blending a bit. His beak and chest are Tangerine Tango, underbelly and head are Certainly Celery, legs are Early Espresso, and the rest of his cute feathers are Perfect Plum. Lastly, I outlined him and colored in his eye with my Early Espresso marker. Why do I call him a "him"? I believe that the males in the animal kingdom are usually much more vibrant and colorful than the females -- learned that from my duck-hunting hubby!
I used the 3/4" Circle Punch and the script stamp from the Collage Curious set in the Spring Catalog to create a nice landing spot for my beautiful butterfly. A single Basic Pearl highlights the butterfly, stamped in Primrose Petals then punched out.
Hope you enjoyed my first card! And, I promise, I am working on a light box so that my pictures come out better! Taking the pictures of the cards is harder than creating them!
