I had to wait to share my Mother's Day cards with you just in case my Mom or Sister happened to check my blog. This card is one that I made for my Momma, and I LOVE it! I find that my cards turn out better when I already have in mind who is going to receive it. Take a look:
I embossed the Swallowtail in Melon Mambo using my Heat Tool. I chose to emboss it on the First Edition Specialty DSP for added interest. Next I used my Sponge Daubers to color in the image with Bashful Blue and Daffodil Delight.
The greeting is from Wonderful Mother. I snipped out just the words that I wanted and sponged the borders in Bashful Blue.
I stamped the small butterflies from Papillion Potpourri in Staz-On ink, then used my Brights Stampin' Write Markers to color them in. A bit of Dazzling Details bling them up a bit... and my Momma loves some bling! :)
I chose to mat my Triple Time layers with Basic Black cardstock for added drama, and to tie in the black from the butterflies and wording from the DSP. I sponged the borders of the DSP with Daffodil Delight before adhering them to the Basic Black layers.
