Pretty Paper Flowers!

I have been wanting to attempt some pretty paper flowers lately, and I wanted something pretty to dress up my craft space, so I decided to give it a go.  This is what I came up with:

This pretty little centerpiece came together very easily, thanks to the Delicate Doilies Sizzlits and the 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch.  I embossed a piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock with the Chevron TIEF to place around the mason jar and cover the bamboo skewers and styrofoam on the inside.  I think I may go back and add some more decorative elements to the wrap also... what do you think?

Here's a close-up of some of the flowers.  I like the mix of the First Edition Specialty DSP with the other Daffodil Delight and Primrose Petals elements.

Basic Rhinestones, In Color Dahlias, and retired Corduroy Brads jazz up the centers of the flowers.  I used my Paper Snips to snip some "petals" on the 1 3/4" Scallop Circles, then scrunched them up a bit.  The rosettes were created by using my Simply Scored to score a strip of First Edition Specialty DSP every 1/4" then zig-zag folding them and fanning them out.

Hope you enjoyed my little vase of "flowers".  Happy Stamping y'all!

Lacey and Lovely and a Little Bit Blingy...

For today's card I reached for an old favorite color combination - Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, and Basic Gray.  I think this combo looks so rich, especially when combined with a great elegant stamp set like Lacey and Lovely.  Take a look:

The sentiment from Made for You was stamped in Basic Gray on a circle that was created by punching out the center of the largest stamped image from Lacey and Lovely.  I layered that piece on top of a Rich Razzleberry, Delicate Doilies Sizzlits die cut.  A few Basic Rhinestones add a bit of bling.

I added a few more Basic Rhinestones to the centers of some of the images for some more razzle dazzle.

See y'all tomorrow!  Happy Stamping!

Stamps:  Lacey and Lovely, Made for You

Golden Leaves

For today's card, I decided to pull out the French Foliage set again... love that set, even in the middle of Spring!  I embossed the three leaf images in Gold Embossing Powder then sponged over them using my Sponge Daubers and Old Olive, Summer Starfruit, and Pumpkin Pie.  The sentiment, from Sweet Essentials, was the perfect size to fit right in the middle of all the beautiful leaves.

I added a few Vintage Trinkets brads for a little extra oomph, and this quick and easy card was good to go!

Don't forget - today is the last day to comment on my Pals March Blog Hop post for your chance to win BLOG CANDY!  I will be drawing a winner tomorrow morning!

Another Beautiful Swallowtail...

I have another Swallowtail card for you today... Sorry, I couldn't resist!  I embossed this one in Melon Mambo Embossing Powder then used my Stampin' Write Markers to color it in.  It looks like I used three marker colors, but actually the pretty green color was made by coloring over my Daffodil Delight sections with Tempting Turquoise.  I really like the sort of tie-dye effect!  What do you think?

I snipped out my Swallowtail using my handy Paper Snips, then I popped him up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

A strip of Melon Mambo cardstock embossed with the Vine Street TIEF adds a bit more texture to the card.  The simple little sentiment from Pretty Petites plays on the other turquoise elements of the card without taking too much away from the beautiful butterfly!

Hope you enjoyed today's card!  Don't forget to post a comment on yesterday's post for your chance to win my BLOG CANDY!

Pals March Blog Hop!

Thank you for joining us for the March Pals Blog Hop! Today the Stampin' Pretty Pals are excited to share new ideas and projects to get you ready for spring.
You should have just left stop number 22 on the Pals Hop - Ginger Toivonvn at gingerstamps.com. If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

When I think of Spring, bright colors and butterflies come to mind, so my card combines those two elements.  I started with a color pallet of bright and cheerful colors - Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, and Rose Red.  I used the third largest oval from the Oval Framelits to cut out the focal point of the card, pierced around the edges using a needle (my paper piercer was MIA, so that's why the holes are less defined), then attached a Window Sheet to the back using SNAIL.

You can see the reflection on the Window Sheet in this photo.  Next, I stamped the swirly image from Everything Eleanor with Old Olive onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Then flip the oval Rich Razzleberry piece over so that it is upside down on your table and add punched flowers (from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack) and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the center of the oval.  Add SNAIL to the edges of the oval being sure to not leave any spaces so that the glitter does not fall out.  Then place the stamped Whisper White piece  on top to act as the backing.

Since I did not use a Shaker Frame with the Window Sheet, the embellishments inside create a beautiful background rather than falling to the bottom of the card.  (I still love the Shaker Frames though!).  I added some beautiful butterflies from Papillion Potpurri punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and then layered the Bitty Butterfly Punch in the coordinating color cardstock.  A few Basic Rhinestones dress them up a bit.

This photo shows the roughed-up edge of the Daffodil Delight layer, created by the Stampin' Distress Tool.  This tool is my new favorite thing and, at just $4.95, it is a great value!  Such a great effect with very little investment!

Okay, now comes the part you all have been waiting for... BLOG CANDY!  Here's what I'm giving away to one lucky reader - a brand new Clear Mount Madison Avenue stamp set and a brand new pack of Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons!  To enter to win, just leave a comment on this post answering this question:

A Nice and Warm "Just Because"...

Today's card uses a few products that have been sitting on my shelf for a while unused... Vellum and the Comfort Cafe DSP.  I like the warmth of the colors in this DSP and thought that the stems of the flowers would pair nicely with the swirly image from Everything Eleanor.  Take a look:

I heat embossed the swirl image in Cherry Cobbler embossing powder onto Vellum Cardstock, then layered it over a strip of the neutral houndstooth pattern from the Comfort Cafe DSP.  If you look carefully at the DSP, you can see that there are a few small Cajun Craze flowers that mimic the flower shape in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack.  I punched those shapes out in Summer Starfruit and Midnight Muse and added some small Basic Pearls in the centers.

I thought that this sentiment from Vintage Verses went well with the rest of the swirly elements on the card.  A few more flower shapes cover up an ink smudge... yes, I'm telling on myself here. :)

Happy Stamping!  See you all tomorrow!

And don't forget about my March Special... place a $50 order with me and you could receive this card as one of your three!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Everything Eleanor, Vintage Verses
Ink:  Midnight Muse, Versamark

Happy Birthday with a Cherry on Top!

I liked the sketch over at Seize the Birthday this week, so I decided to play along!

For today's card I decided to ink up the gorgeous cupcakes and cake stand from the Cherry on Top hostess set.  How can you get your own hostess set, you ask?  Simple - just place an order of $150 and you get $25 in hostess rewards, and this set (in clear mount) only takes up $12 of your rewards!  No need to host a party!  Have more questions about hostess rewards, or anything for that matter, just email me!

I heat embossed the cake stand with Silver embossing powder onto Whisper White cardstock then I cut out the base and dome as two separate pieces.  I used the Stamp-a-majig to stamp my cupcakes on the dome in exactly the right place... love that tool!  Then I popped up the dome and cupcake piece with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I cut the sentiment in two pieces (it comes in the set as one stamp).  Next I added a fun Regal Rose border using the Adorning Accents Edgelits.

Hope you enjoyed today's yummy card!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Cherry on Top (Hostess)
Ink:  Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise, Versamark
Paper:  Brights DSP Stack, Regal Rose, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White
Embellishments:  None
Tools:  Big Shot, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Big Shot, Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

Black and Pink Bloomin' Birthday!

I love the way this card turned out (in person)... though my camera did a really bad job of capturing the Basic Black and Melon Mambo colors.  I tried lots of different settings, but hopefully you get the idea.

Some of the flowers (from Bloomin' Marvelous) were embossed directly on the Basic Black, while others were embossed on Whisper White and Basic Gray.  The ones that were embossed on Whisper White and Basic Gray were cut out and popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.  They also have a touch of Dazzling Details on the centers of them, though it's hard to see that from these photos.

The sentiment, from Made For You, was stamped using the Whisper White Craft Pad.

Hope you enjoyed this one, and sorry about the poor quality of the photos today!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Bloomin' Marvelous, Made for You
Ink:  Whisper White Craft, Versamark Pad
Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Black, Basic Gray
Embellishments:  Dazzling Details, Basic Gray Stitched Ribbon
Tools:  Heat Tool, Melon Mambo Embossing Powder

A Shaker Flower...

Today's cards uses one of my favorite Stampin' Up! products - Shaker Frames!  This one was pretty quick and easy, thanks to the Quintessential Flower stamp and corresponding punches.  The largest flower, however, I had to cut out with my paper snips since I don't have that punch yet.

Here's a close-up of the adorable flower, filled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Hope you enjoyed today's fun shaker card!  See y'all tomorrow!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Quintessential Flower, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink:  Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango, Summer Starfruit, Baja Breeze
Paper:  Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Rich Razzleberry, Sycamore Street DSP
Embellishments:  Dazzling Diamonds
Tools:  Chevron TIEF, Big Shot, Shaker Frames, 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, 1" Circle Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch

Yes, I Know it's Spring...

I just couldn't resist inking up the beautiful leaves from the French Foliage for this masculine card.  My husband went on a hunting trip solo recently and got his truck stuck in a snow bank for three and a half hours before a nice man came by and helped him, so I made this card for my husband's rescuer.  :)

The leaves are embossed in gold, then sponged over using the emboss resist technique in Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Summer Starfruit.  I added two thin strips of Early Espresso cardstock to shift the focus to the leaf panel.

The simple sentiment from the Made for You set was stamped in Early Espresso.  I usually love a card with lots of layers, but this one layer turned out pretty great!

See y'all tomorrow!  Happy stamping!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  French Foliage, Made for You
Ink:  Early Espresso, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Summer Starfruit
Paper:  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso
Embellishments:  None
Tools:  Heat Tool, Versamark Pad, Gold Emboss Powder, Embossing Buddy, Sponge Daubers

Bees and Honeycombs

What goes perfectly with Honeycombs?  Bees, of course.  That was my thinking, at least, when I decided to pair the adorable little bee stamp from Collage Curios with the Honeycomb TIEF.  All of the bees are stamped in Basic Black and their bodies are colored in with a Daffodil Delight Marker, though it's hard to see in this picture.

I added a flower from the Bloomin' Marvelous set to act as a landing spot for a stray bee.  This one has a dab of Crystal Effects on its wings.

See y'all tomorrow!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Collage Curios, Bloomin' Marvelous (SAB)
Ink:  Basic Black, Primrose Petals, Daffodil Delight Stampin' Write Marker
Paper:  Whisper White, Daffodil Delight
Embellishments:  Crystal Effects, Daffodil Delight Grosgrain Ribbon (Retired), Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon, Dazzling Details
Tools:  Honeycomb TIEF, Delicate Doilies Sizzlits, Big Shot
