ABC - I Heart U!

A friend will be welcoming a son soon, and I wanted to create a cute and fun bit of nursery art for her, so I turned to the ABC-123 Outline Alphabet and Numbers set.  The alphabet is perfect for a nursery, right, and my supply of baby themed stamps is seriously lacking, so I went with what I had on hand.  I'm so pleased with the result, and it will look great in a white frame.

Want to make quick work of this piece?  Just assemble your stamps on your large clear block as shown:

I stamped the letters in Black Staz-On and then colored them in with my Blender Pen and various shades of blue.

Happy Stamping!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  ABC-123 Outline Alphabet and Numbers
Ink:  Black Staz-On, Pacific Point, Coastal Cabana, Tempting Turquoise, Midnight Muse, Bashful Blue
Paper:  Whisper White, Silver Glimmer, Pacific Point
Tools:  Small Heart Punch, Blender Pen

"What's Black and White and Red All Over?"

"The Newspaper!".... HA HA HA!

Or in this case, today's card (which technically is Basic Black, Very Vanilla, and Real Red!)...

I am so excited to share this card with you today, so whether you are a follower of mine or if you hopped on over here from Mary Fish's blog (I'm her featured Guest Stamper today!), then welcome!  I'm glad you're here!

I am LOVING the new Modern Medley Designer Series Paper, and I can't ever choose just one pattern to use so I combined a bunch of the sheets from that collection for today's card.  To me, nothing says "Elegant Christmas" more than black, white, and red, and I only have a few Christmas cards in my stash right now, so I decided to pair the DSP with the Joyful Christmas stamp set.

I am IN LOVE with the result, and even though I told myself that I would not sit at my craft table like a robot manufacturing 50 of the same Christmas card this year, I just may have to make a few more of these:

I embossed the poinsettia with Silver Embossing Powder on Real Red twice, then cut the images out and layered them with Stampin' Dimensionals.  I knew that I wanted to create some sort of separation between the DSP patterns, and what says "Christmas" more than sparkle, so Silver Glimmer Paper it was!  A little bit of Dazzling Details on the center of the flower adds more sparkle to this already glimmering card!

Do you want to receive this card in your mailbox???

Then join my Stamp of the Month Club next month - Joyful Christmas is the featured stamp set and this is one of the three cards you will receive!

Read on for more details on my Stamp of the Month Club!!!

A New Technique... Faux Tiling!

I stumbled upon this great tiling technique on Pinterest and had to give it a try!  I love this background for a simple one or two layer card.  Take a look:

I stamped Daydream Medallions in Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, and Baja Breeze before scoring.  As luck would have it, the scoring ended up creating a square in the exact spot where I needed to put my sentiment... when I replicated this card, that didn't happen!  Tip - You may want to score first, stamp your sentiment where you want it, and then work outward stamping the Daydream Medallions.

Happy Stamping!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Daydream Medallions, Made for You
Ink:  Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze
Paper:  Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Embellishments:  Basic Rhinestones

Fun with Washi!

Today's card uses the popular polaroid layout.  For the "picture" portion, I used washi tape to create a fun focal point.  I have had this washi tape sitting at the back of my desk for quite a while, and I finally decided to take it for a test drive!  Boy, what was I waiting for?!  I love the stuff!  It is super easy to use, and not to mention, a great value!  You get three rolls for only $4.95!

To create this square panel, I found it easiest to tape outside the box onto my work surface and then trace around the edges with my paper snips... nice clean edges, and you don't have to worry about tucking all those pieces of tape around the back.  Super quick and easy!

Happy Stamping!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Oh Hello
Ink:  Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise
Paper:  Retired Brights DSP Stack, Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White

Pals August Blog Hop!

Thank you for joining us for the August Pals Blog Hop. Even though it's only August we want to provide some inspiration for your upcoming holiday projects. This month's blog hop will showcase new products from the 2013 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. We hope you enjoy seeing how we use the new stamps, new punches and other accessories!
You should have just left stop number 11 on the Pals Hop - Penny Nichols at Sierra Stampin!. If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

"Remembering Christmas" was the first stamp set in the Holiday Catalog to make it to my wish list.  It's another one of those sets that I felt an obligation to own... since my hubby is a hunter and we live in Wyoming surrounded by deer, antelope, elk, etc.

Another plus about this set... it's versatility!  I will be using this deer image for masculine thank you and birthday cards for years to come.  Since the image isn't traditionally Christmas-y (like a Santa Claus or Snowman) you can get miles of stamping out of this one!

Anyway, enough of my love of this set, here's my card:

I embossed the deer in Cherry Cobbler embossing powder onto a sheet of Etcetera DSP.  The Cherry Cobbler DSP is from a retired Christmas stack.

To dress up my deer a bit for the winter weather, I added a Pool Party ribbon "scarf".  A pretty Linen Thread bow and Vintage Trinkets safety pin hold my sentiment.

Want to make this deer even more Christmas-ready?  Just add a Basic Pearl colored with a red Sharpie to his nose... Rudolph!  The hubby gave me that idea!

Hope you enjoyed my card!  And thanks for hopping with us!

Stamping Supplies:
Stamps:  Remembering Christmas
Ink:  Versamark, Crumb Cake
Paper:  Etcetera DSP, Retired Christmas DSP Stack, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Embellishments:  Vintage Trinkets, Linen Thread, Pool Party Ribbon
Tools:  Heat Tool, Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder

The next stop is Shannon Jaramillo at Ezpeasycards, stop number 13 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting – and I hope to see you next month!
