Remember Stampin' Up!'s great Photopolymer Stamps... well, if not, here is a refresher on these great quality, great value sets:

We've searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we've found it. We're excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers. Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let's just say they're meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.
What makes them so great?
  • They're entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don't worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They're age tested. They won't yellow or cloud up over time.
  • We could go on, but we'll let you try them for yourself.
They are clearly a great choice.

Pals August Blog Hop!

Thank you for joining us for the August Pals Blog Hop. Even though it's only August we want to provide some inspiration for your upcoming holiday projects. This month's blog hop will showcase new products from the 2013 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. We hope you enjoy seeing how we use the new stamps, new punches and other accessories!
You should have just left stop number 11 on the Pals Hop - Penny Nichols at Sierra Stampin!. If so, you are in the right spot.  If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

"Remembering Christmas" was the first stamp set in the Holiday Catalog to make it to my wish list.  It's another one of those sets that I felt an obligation to own... since my hubby is a hunter and we live in Wyoming surrounded by deer, antelope, elk, etc.

Another plus about this set... it's versatility!  I will be using this deer image for masculine thank you and birthday cards for years to come.  Since the image isn't traditionally Christmas-y (like a Santa Claus or Snowman) you can get miles of stamping out of this one!

Anyway, enough of my love of this set, here's my card:

I embossed the deer in Cherry Cobbler embossing powder onto a sheet of Etcetera DSP.  The Cherry Cobbler DSP is from a retired Christmas stack.

To dress up my deer a bit for the winter weather, I added a Pool Party ribbon "scarf".  A pretty Linen Thread bow and Vintage Trinkets safety pin hold my sentiment.

Want to make this deer even more Christmas-ready?  Just add a Basic Pearl colored with a red Sharpie to his nose... Rudolph!  The hubby gave me that idea!

Hope you enjoyed my card!  And thanks for hopping with us!

Stamping Supplies:
Stamps:  Remembering Christmas
Ink:  Versamark, Crumb Cake
Paper:  Etcetera DSP, Retired Christmas DSP Stack, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Embellishments:  Vintage Trinkets, Linen Thread, Pool Party Ribbon
Tools:  Heat Tool, Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder

The next stop is Shannon Jaramillo at Ezpeasycards, stop number 13 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting – and I hope to see you next month!

For My Hubby's Big 30!

My husband recently celebrated his 30th Birthday so I needed a card for him.  I show him all of the cards that I make and he likes to offer advice on how to improve them... like, "You need to add more rhinestones here" or "Make this ribbon piece a little shorter".  Hehehe!  Don't tell him I told you!  So, the pressure was kind of high for this card:

He enjoys hunting and all things outdoors, so I knew I wanted to go with a camouflage color scheme.  I created the background by lightly dragging my ink pads across a piece of Very Vanilla cardstock.  Super quick and easy with a pretty handsome result!

Hope you enjoyed this one!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Tool Shed, Best Dad Ever
Ink:  Gumball Green, Crumb Cake, Summer Starfruit, Black Staz-On
Paper:  Gumball Green, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Very Vanilla

You Guessed It... Poppies!

Another Pleasant Poppies card!  You know when you get a new stamp and you just can't put it down... that's what happened to me with Pleasant Poppies!  But don't worry, I only have a few more cards left to show with this stamp.  Then we'll be moving on to my next obsession!  Anyway, here is today's card:

This card uses my most favorite DSP... so sad that it's retired... First Edition Specialty DSP.  I love stamping on it!  For this one, I embossed the Pleasant Poppies with Melon Mambo embossing powder then colored them.

Actually, now that I look at it... lots of stuff on this card is retired!  Ooops!  Sorry!  I just can't let go of all of my great retired papers and embellishments!  Ribbon... retired.  DSP... retired.  Old Olive brads... retired.  Oh well... you 'll have to check back later for a Pleasant Poppies card with ALL CURRENT SU products!  I promise!

In the meantime, happy stamping!

Clean and Simple Poppies... Yes, More Poppies!

I wanted to try the Pleasant Poppies stamp in a clean and simple way (a rarity for me), so I just stamped part of the image on the side of Whisper White cardstock.  After some coloring, a simple border hand drawn in Melon Mambo pulled it all together.  In total, this simple card took about five minutes!  File this one away for when you are rushing out the door and remember that you need a card!

Thanks for visiting, and happy stamping!

Stamps:  Pleasant Poppies, Lacey and Lovely
Ink:  Melon Mambo Stampin' Write Marker, Gumball Green, Black Staz-On

For a Handy Dad!

I needed a card for my Dad, and my stash of Masculine stamp sets is fleeting, so I pulled out the trusty ol' Tool Shed again... even though it's retired.  Living on a ranch in the middle of nowhere, we have to fix a lot of things ourselves, so the men in my life are proficient, self-taught carpenters.  I whipped this one up really quickly:

Ink:  Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake

Howdy from the Frontier!

Since I live on a cattle ranch in the middle of the Wild West, I kind of felt obligated to purchase this stamp set!  And, boy, am I glad I did!  I love the quality of the stamped horse image.  I dug into my retired DSP for this western-looking plaid print, and then dirtied it up a bit with the watermark stamp from French Foliage.  Hope you all enjoy!

I love the new ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet and Numbers set!  It is so versatile and, at only $19.95 for 35 stamps, it is a GREAT value!

Gotta have my safety pins from the Vintage Trinkets pack!

The "Howdy" was embossed with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder then colored in with my Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker!  I love the result!  What do you think?

Happy Stamping!
