Hello, Baby Elephant...

Some dear friends of ours just had a baby boy, so I made this card for them.  Don't ask me why, but when I first saw the elephant image in Patterned Occasions (get it FREE during Sale-A-Bration), I immediately thought "baby".  Yes, yes, I know... the elephant stamp says "Thanks a ton!".  So, I just cut out the elephant to isolate him from the sentiment and, bam, baby card.

I had to try out the beautiful sunburst technique that I have been seeing all over the internet, and I love the result.  I chose to mix patterns and textures for the rays, using the Chevron TIEF, the Honeycomb TIEF, and the Brights DSP Stack.  A bit of Midnight Muse sponged on the outsides of the rays creates definition.

Here's a close-up of the adorable elephant.  A Basic Pearl colored with my Early Espresso Marker creates the perfect eye.

Hope you enjoyed today's card!  See you tomorrow!
