Thank you for joining us for the March Pals Blog Hop! Today the Stampin' Pretty Pals are excited to share new ideas and projects to get you ready for spring.
You should have just left stop number 22 on the Pals Hop - Ginger Toivonvn at gingerstamps.com. If so, you are in the right spot. If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
When I think of Spring, bright colors and butterflies come to mind, so my card combines those two elements. I started with a color pallet of bright and cheerful colors - Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, and Rose Red. I used the third largest oval from the Oval Framelits to cut out the focal point of the card, pierced around the edges using a needle (my paper piercer was MIA, so that's why the holes are less defined), then attached a Window Sheet to the back using SNAIL.
You can see the reflection on the Window Sheet in this photo. Next, I stamped the swirly image from Everything Eleanor with Old Olive onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Then flip the oval Rich Razzleberry piece over so that it is upside down on your table and add punched flowers (from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack) and Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the center of the oval. Add SNAIL to the edges of the oval being sure to not leave any spaces so that the glitter does not fall out. Then place the stamped Whisper White piece on top to act as the backing.
Since I did not use a Shaker Frame with the Window Sheet, the embellishments inside create a beautiful background rather than falling to the bottom of the card. (I still love the Shaker Frames though!). I added some beautiful butterflies from Papillion Potpurri punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and then layered the Bitty Butterfly Punch in the coordinating color cardstock. A few Basic Rhinestones dress them up a bit.
This photo shows the roughed-up edge of the Daffodil Delight layer, created by the Stampin' Distress Tool. This tool is my new favorite thing and, at just $4.95, it is a great value! Such a great effect with very little investment!
Okay, now comes the part you all have been waiting for... BLOG CANDY! Here's what I'm giving away to one lucky reader - a brand new Clear Mount Madison Avenue stamp set and a brand new pack of Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons! I really liked the way you positioned and used the three colors of butterflies. Beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteI love the technique on this card with the window sheet. Beautifully done....someone will be over the top happy to receive this masterpiece! And for me spring is being able to open the windows and let the fresh air in the house! That and being able to see the grass again. HA! Maybe in June this year.
ReplyDeleteSo elegant!
ReplyDeleteWhat I love the most about spring is the weather. In Texas we have only two types of weather. Its either Hot, or really Hot. During Spring for about a 2 weeks in march it usually cools off enough to want to spend time outside, or leave the windows open for the breeze to blow in. Thank you for sharing your beautiful and creative ideas.
